My roommate and I have [semi] recently become obsessed with men. As in, finding the One. Okay, so it’s not going to happen right now, and we’d prefer to date around, have fun, explore, and all that being young entails, but we’re looking for assurance that we will meet our Prince Charming, white knight, hero, protective cowboy, secure doctor, ahem sex god (you get the picture), so relationship and dating advice is important info to us right about now.
Now how exactly does this relate to happiness?
Well, I read an article that referenced a study done by Psychology Today’s Dr. Jeremy Nicholson, and he breaks down the essentials to being attractive to the opposite sex. Supposedly, it’s easier than we think; general grooming and care and then BEING HAPPY.
Ahh, there it is. Having a positive, friendly personality and smiling will make you more attractive. Have a positive attitude, he says, and that optimistic outlook will outshine even physical characteristics.
So he’s saying what we’ve always been told, I guess. It’s the beauty on the inside that actually really does matter if they’re serious about finding someone to date and not just…well, you know.
